Boeing's Starliner Set for Launch in Critical Test Flight
Liftoff Scheduled for Saturday
Boeing's Starliner astronaut mission, a critical test flight for NASA, is set to launch on Saturday from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The mission will test the spacecraft's ability to safely carry astronauts to and from the International Space Station.
Past Launch Attempts
This is Boeing's third attempt to launch the Starliner to the ISS. The first two attempts, in 2019 and 2021, were unsuccessful due to technical issues.
Collaboration with NASA
Boeing's Crew Space Transportation CST-100 Starliner spacecraft is being developed in collaboration with NASA's Commercial Crew Program. The program aims to develop commercial spacecraft to ferry astronauts to the ISS, reducing NASA's reliance on Russian spacecraft.
